General Required Documents for Italy Visa Application:

Download the Italy Visa application form. You can also fill it out electronically and then print a hard copy.

Attach 2 passport-sized photos; they must be recent, showing your full face against a light background. For more details, review the photo requirements and specifications for an Italian Visa.

Provide your passport along with copies of any previous visas. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your return date and have at least two blank pages.

Include a copy of your return ticket reservation. It is advisable not to purchase the ticket before securing your visa unless otherwise specified.

Submit proof of travel medical insurance covering a minimum of €30,000 valid within Italy and the entire Schengen area.

Include a cover letter explaining the purpose of your visit to Italy along with your itinerary.

Provide flight ticket reservation details, if applicable.

Submit proof of civil status, such as marriage certificate, children’s birth certificates, spouse’s death certificate, or ration card if applicable.

Provide proof of accommodation for your entire stay in Italy.

Show means of subsistence — evidence of sufficient financial means for your stay. According to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the required minimum amounts must be attested when applying for an Italian Visa at an Embassy or Consulate.
